Circling the Square Fine Art Press (Gardiner, Maine) and Estamperia Quiteña (Quito, Ecuador) are creating a cross-cultural printmaking exchange. Fifteen artists from each press will create 3 limited print editions, and jointly open the exhibit “A Sense of Place” in Maine and Ecuador in November 2015. A bilingual catalog is part of the exhibition plan.

The prints have a central theme of environmental preservation and biodiversity. The project focuses on the similarities and differences of the two artists’ communities, and the connection between the local and the global. This exchange offers opportunities to share ideas, and artistic and environmental insights.
